Virginia Erlich Service Award

In 1998 the AGATE Board inaugurated the Virginia Erlich Service Award to recognize prominent individuals whose vision, dedication, and long-term effort has greatly impacted the lives of gifted children and the field of gifted education.

As a co-founder of AGATE and author of an article documenting the importance of grandparents as mentors for gifted children (1983) that continues to be cited in the literature, Dr. Erlich enriched the soil she tended for present and future use.
